twenty eleven

Last year was so very full, a wonderful time of travel, romance, new people, and inspiration, mixed with long stretches of being a good art hermit locked in my cave working on new creations.

Below is an overview of a few the amazing things I was part of in the year of twenty eleven.

I Have Your Heart Kickstarter

My first ever kickstarter was an astounding success, with Molly Crabapple, Kim Boekbinder, and myself crowdfunding the animation budget for our short film ‘I Have Your Heart’. A huge and heartfelt thank you to all who supported our art.

Brothers Grim - On The Meter

I shot a raucous and debaucherous music video for the Brothers Grim track ‘On The Meter’. There is no truth to the rumours of an ‘uncut’ version of this video, none what so ever.

Impossible Girl #3

I finished the first music video that Kim Boebinder and I shot together, for her song ‘Impossible Girl #3’. Beautiful and simple, full of good memories.

Poster Designs

I did the art and design for a few posters. Always enjoy seeing my artwork plastered up all over the neighborhood.

Secret Exploration Society Album

Long time comrade Murray Lorden and I formed the Secret Exploration Society and released our first album.

Northside Heroes Exhibtion

My portrait of musician and good friend, Mojo Juju, was shown as part of the Northside Heroes exhibition.

New York City

I spent time in NYC, with beautiful talented friends. A city that inspires me to do more and better. I’ll be back.

Touring With Rockstars

I joined Kim Boekbinder on Amanda Palmer’s summer tour of Australia, where we met many new friends including the lovely St Clare & Mikelangelo.

Amanda Palmer - In My Mind

While on tour in Newcastle, Amanda Palmer and I shot an amazing music video. You can read the full story of how it happened here.

Animating

A lot 2011 was spent hiding away in a darkened studio working hard on our ‘I Have Your Heart’ animation. More work in progress updates can be found at www.ihaveyourheart.com

Portrait

Somehow ended up on the other side of the camera, getting my photo taken by the very talented portrait photographer Shami Kiely.
